SHIFT TO HEALTHIER AND MORE SUSTAINABLE DIETS
Too much salt, too few wholegrains and too little fruit are contributing
to millions of premature deaths every year. Meat, while an important source of some nutrients, can increase the risk of some types of chronic disease when we eat too much of it.
Switching to more plant-based diets could help to significantly reduce the overall global burden of diet- related deaths, while at the same time helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
VENT DEADLY DISEASES?
The Oxford Martin Programme on
the Future of Food and the Wellcome- funded Livestock, Environment and People project are uncovering the complex health, environmental, social and economic effects of meat and dairy production and consumption.
